Shimano Ultegra 6800 Mid-Compact Crank 170 mm (36/52) Presenting Shimano’s new Ultegra 6800 group set. The Ultegra series is performance proven mechanical group as it is a direct trickle down from Shimano’s Dura Ace group. Following the Dura Ace’s move to 11 speed, Shimano has introduced 11 speed to the Ultegra. This performance group set now features an 11-speed cassette with more gearing options. Shimano also claims the new shifter’s ergonomic design greatly resembles those of the new Dura-Ace. According to Shimano, a complete group weighs 2,309 grams, 35 grams less than the previous generation.

The Shimano Dura-Ace 9100 drivetrain continues to serenade cyclists with its Rider-Tuned anthem. The Dura-Ace 9100 cassette was designed by Shimano based on direct rider feedback. Though the differences between the 9000 and 9100 cassettes are subtle, they’re significant. With the new additions to the Shimano Dura-Ace 9100 series comes the exciting inclusion of the 11/30T cassette, which is the largest cassette ever offered at a Dura-Ace level. Its expansion of gearing options and rigid tooth profile for incredibly smooth shifting are what set this cassette a part from others. Not only does it feature a CFRP and alloy spider arm, it also includes 5 titanium sprockets for lightweight performance. The 11/30T cassette also features a tool-free joining link for added convenience.Features: Tooth profile offers faster and smoother shifts Largest cassette ever offered at a Dura-Ace level 11-12-13-14-15-17-19-21-24-27-30T sprockets Tool-free joining link 5 titanium sprockets for lightweight performance

SRAM Rival 1 42T X-SYNC Crankset Without Bottom Bracket

  • Arm Material: forged aluminum
  • Arm Length: 170 mm, 172.5 mm, 175 mm
  • Chainring Sizes: 42 t, 50 t
  • BB Type: GXP
  • Bolts: 5

With one-by drivetrains firmly established as a viable option in the mountain and cyclocross realms, SRAM is now in the process of expanding the one-by paradigm to the road with its Rival 1 group. The Rival 1 GXP Crankset sits at the center of the group to guide the chain through the pedal stroke with perfect lines and outstanding chain retention. While some of us at Competitive’s office remain skeptical of a sole chainring’s utility in more mountainous regions, others are eager to sacrifice a top-end gear or two for the weight savings and clean simplicity of the new options. Whatever the case, this setup certainly shows promise for riders living in less aggressive topographies and may be an ideal setup to ditch the front derailleur and save some weight for crits and time trials. The crank arms are fashioned from forged aluminum for efficient power transfer at a much lower price point than their carbon fiber counterparts. The chainring’s teeth feature a distinctly tall, squared-off profile that catches the chain earlier and releases it later in the pedal rotation than standard triangular teeth, improving chain stability and retention. The teeth also have rounded chamfer edges to aid chain retention and minimize deflection. SRAM also keeps b-road adventures in mind by including recesses that help clear mud. The SRAM Rival 1 GXP Crankset is compatible with GXP-equipped framesets with 130mm and 135mm rear spacing.

Quarq DZero Carbon Power Meter Crank Arms - BB30

  • Arm Material: Exogram Hollow Carbon
  • Arm Length: 165 mm, 170 mm, 172.5 mm, 175 mm
  • Bolt Circle Diameter: [compact] 110 mm, [standard] 130 mm
  • Bolts: 5
  • Rings: 1 or 2

Power meters tend to be a delicate balance in economy vs. accuracy and reliability, with a consistent negative correlation between the two categories. Quarq’s power meters are typically the exception to this rule, and the BB30 DZero Carbon Power Meter Crank Arms represent the culmination of a decade of the brand’s industry-defining R&D. Chief among these developments is the power meter itself, which saw a healthy amount of retooling for the DZero model. Overall, Quarq claims that “150 documented improvements” inform the evolution from the previous models to DZero, but the most important is to the heart of the meter itself: the strain gauges and measurement circuitry. It still incorporates five strain gauges strategically placed throughout the spider in order to measure the Newton meters you’re throwing into the pedals. It’s also still got the same claimed accuracy of +/- 1. 5%, so its numbers are 0. 5% more accurate than most meters, but the new design requires less correction in order to maintain accuracy in drastic temperature changes. Fewer corrections mean the DZero also better rations battery life than Quarq’s previous power meter models, though when the battery does go out, you can still change it without tools or having to ship the whole thing to the manufacturer. The DZero system’s accuracy is further boosted by the return of Quarq’s 10k dynamic temperature compensation technology, which alleviates the need for constant, mid-race zeroings in variable conditions. Even if it’s just coasting for a few seconds or toggling through your head unit to the proper option, it can still be the difference between winning and losing. It’s also obnoxious as hell. The DZero is equipped with an auto-adjust schedule based on a constellation of around 10,000 data points that chart how the unit responds to temperatures ranging from zero to 130 degrees Fahrenheit. This lets the power meter figure out the atmospheric details for you with minimal drift, so you can focus o…

The BB30 bottom bracket allows you to pair 30mm spindle cranks to 42mm inner diameter bottom bracket shells. Cannondale pioneered this standard along with specially-designed cranks and many have found the benefits to them. Road versions have a 68mm width, MTB has 73mm. These are also the bearings you can use to replace bearings in Pf30 cups. You have two bearing choices. The first choice is our low drag, long life standard bearing, with hardened-steel races and our super round CeramicSpeed BALLS. The second choice is our coated bearing, which uses those same BALLS installed on coated, hardened-steel races for longer life and less bearing drag.

Ours are designed to work with less drag, adding to the power transmitted to the rear wheel. We have two options for Shimano 11 speed Derailleurs. The first is machined aluminium pulleys that start with our hardened-steel races and are finished with our CeramicSpeed balls-our standard bearings. These kill the COMPETITION in tests. Option two is machined titanium pulleys with our standard bearings. The third is machined titanium pulleys with our stock ceramic BALLS installed in our coated hardened-steel races.

Campagnolo Record 11 Cassette

  • Cog Material: chrome-plated steel, titanium
  • Hub Type: Campagnolo
  • Claimed Weight: 201 g
  • Recommended Use: Road cycling, racing
  • Manufacturer Warranty: 2 Years

The Campagnolo Record 11 Ultra Shift cassette is the kissing cousin of the Super Record 11 cassette. Only one distinction of note separates these models: While the Super Record 11 cassette is built with 5 steel cogs and 6 Ti cogs, the Record 11 cassette is built with 8 steel cogs and 3 Ti cogs. On the Record 11, only the low 3 cogs (i.e. your climbing gears) are made from Ti. The other 8 are nickel-chrome coated steel. All of the Ultra Shift technology built into the Super Record 11 cassette is equally present in the Record 11 cassette. You get the same cog tooth synchronization. Note how the teeth on each cog look similar at the same place on each cog. This enhances shifting precision and reduces stress (thereby increasing the lifespan) of your chain. And you’ll note how select teeth on each cog have a sharkfin-like shape. This shape serves as a gateway for upshifts. The Ultra Shift cog design works hand-in-hand with your 11 speed Ergopower shift levers to provide quicker shifts with less effort. According to Campagnolo Ultra Shift requires 13% less effort to achieve rear derailleur shifts in comparison to pre-Ultra Shift. The Record 11 cassette should attract people who are looking for added longevity in their components. The steel cogs are coated with nickel-chrome to increase durability, and when you keep in mind that steel is a harder material than Ti, you can reasonably expect a longer useful lifespan out of a Record 11 cassette than a Super Record 11. At 201g, the Record 11 cassette weighs a mere 24g more than Super Record 11.The Campagnolo Record 11 cassette comes with a lightweight alloy lockring. It’s available in 5 ratios: 11-23, 11-25, 12-25, 12-27, and 12-29.
